This was stated by Tafazal Hussain, Executive President, J&K Bank after he dedicated an ATM to the people of Sankoo, a beautiful place on Kargil-Zanskar Road. Pertinently, it is the only ATM on this 240 Km long stretch.
Maintaining that J&K Bank was striving to help people of the state through all means at its disposal, Tafazal urged the public, that had gathered to celebrate the installation of ATM, to take maximum benefit from the products and services of the Bank. “We have a product for every segment, tailored for your specific requirements. Besides, finance for government sponsored schemes, which are highly subsidized, is also available for undertaking various self-employment ventures”, he said.
“J&K Bank does not believe in sticking to normal banking business. We are ready to hold your hands to help you make the best of these schemes. You have a potential in agriculture, dairy farming, poultry, sheep rearing and even small scale industries. Try to identify your capacities, the potential available in the area. We are ready not only to finance you, but guide you by providing consultative and financial literacy services”.
To give boost to agriculture in the area , he advised the locals to avail Kissan Credit Card that comes with wonderful features like low rate of interest and hassle-free availability . “Likewise, SKEWPY, a state government sponsored scheme offers relieving subsidy of 35% for encouraging youth to go for entrepreneurship ventures”, he added.
As a goodwill gesture, Tafazal announced donation of one computer system and a printer to a local orphanage. “We are exploring the options of identifying the scope of various activities that your Bank can undertake under its Corporate Social Responsibility”, he revealed.
He thanked the people of Sankoo for cooperating with the J&K Bank saying, “It is your cooperation that encourages us to reach to remote, high altitude and very difficult terrains with our services and products. We understand the long distances you cover to bank with us but then it is your bank”.
Chetan Paljore, Bank’s Vice-President, Tasaduq Ahmad, Bank’s Cluster head for Kargil, the local police and administrative officers, sarpanch and panchs were also present on the occasion.
