Nagam gets J&K Bank ATM, new branch premises : J&K Bank is a movement fuelled by the peoples’ trust: Lone

  Srinagar, 03 Jul 2012

J&K Bank is not just a financial institution, it is movement fuelled by the trust, confidence and cooperation of the people of J&K. It is an asset of the people of the state and needs to be promoted and supported at all levels by the people of the state. This movement aims at transforming J&K into a financially sound economy with empowered individuals.
This was stated by Bashir Ahmad Lone, Bank’s President & Zonal Head for Kashmir Central at an impressive customer meet held at Nagam locality in Budgam district soon after he, alongwith Abdul Rashid Shigan, Bank’s Vice-President inaugrated the new premises of the business unit Nagam and an on-site ATM on Monday.
Stating that J&K Bank has right from its inception worked for making people of J&K financial empowered and self-reliant, Lone said, “Our history has been the history of transformation of peoples’ lives by making them financially empowered and self reliant. We have all along the journey innovatively exploited the potential of state’s economy”, adding that “our creative financial intervention has led to the boost of key sectors like agriculture, horticulture, handicrafts and tourism, and in the process, lives of hundreds of thousands of people have been made better”.
Stressing that J&K Bank, unlike other banks operating in the state, doesn’t believe in selective or elite class banking, Lione sought peoples’ cooperation in helping J&K Bank retain its monopoly in the J&K state. “Your support is the key to our success and strength and it shall continue to inspire us in creating growth stories and employement avenues, directly through recruitment and indirectly through entreprenuership development and financing businesses”, he said.
He further informed the gathering that J&K Bank, by virtue of Chairman Mushtaq Ahmad’s efforts, had acquired license for opening of 15 more branches in Budgam district.
Apart from scores of customers, others present on the occasion included Abdul Hamid Khan, Cluster Head Budgam and Shakil Ahmad, head business unit Nagam.
